LOL!!

We got in to PA yesterday, and I'm starting to get acclimated to things here (including with the weather lol!)

Traveling from Reno, NV, to Johnstown, PA, was something of an adventure. My brother and I hadn't traveled by train since we were little, so it's something that neither of us remembered. The route that the train took was places that we had never been in, except for Chicago, IL. Our mother's family is from a town near Chicago, called Woodstock, and we hadn't been in that area since we were little kids (like 5/6 yrs old for me, and a newborn/1, for him)

PA is still hip deep to a giraffe in snow, and we're supposed to get some more cold weather over the weekend. As soon as I can get acclimated to things here, I'll be working on getting to be gainfully employed again.

Thanks for all the positive thoughts. Here's hoping things will improve, although I'm feeling really positive about it.

Also, even though it's not in the same light, I do want to take a moment to remember Leonard Nimoy, who passed away today. He was an amazing actor and director. I didn't know, until I read about his passing on Yahoo!! that he was also a photographer. Spock was one of those characters that helped us to look at ourselves from the outside, by commenting on our state of being at the time.

I also noticed the he ended his Tweets with LLAP (Live Long And Prosper)

Mr. Nimoy, you will be missed, and thought about often, with fondness.

LOL.

Even if you don't....

From Monday afternoon to mid Thursday morning, I'm not going to be on. I'm going to be traveling by train from Reno, NV to Johnstown, PA. I do have a layover in Chicago for a couple of hours that I will try to check in, but I don't know if I will have Wifi access there.

A friend of mine is helping me move there. I'm hoping things will improve there. My friend is already saying that there is a call center there that would hire me, so I'm hopeful.

I'll be back late Thursday, or sometime on Friday.

:iconmylochka: sent me this. I've never been sent one before, so I hope I don't offend anybody, but this is what you get when you ask my opinions about anything. LOL. It also took me awhile to come up with the questions that I wanted to ask.

Rules
1. you must post the rules
2. Each person must share 10 things about them
3. Answer 10 questions in your journal and create 10 questions for the people you tag to answer
4. Choose 10 people and put their icons in your Journal
5. Go to their page and inform them they were tagged(I don`t see why, We have mention now)
6. You have to legitimately tag 10 people
7. There IS no rule 7

Mylochka's questions for me

1. Let's start with some healthy self-promotion -- What is your favorite picture (by you, of course) in your gallery? [include a thumbnail so we can see it]         Well, it's hard to pick just one, but I guess I would say that my favorite picture of my own is 'The other left, doc.'.   Dude, the other left 2 by nvoracle   Although I still feel like there are things about that picture that could stand to be improved (mostly my lighting in this one) it is the one that best shows my improvement in my ability to light a scene. I had done the original ( Dude, the other left by nvoracle) before I really knew anything about lighting in 3D, and the difference is like night and day. A difference that I'm very proud of.

2. Since turnabout is fair play, now what is your favorite picture by me from my gallery? (assuming you have one... if not, just post a random picture of a Boston Terrier looking guilty and/or wearing a Star Trek costume and I'll be happy...)       I'm not sure I have a favorite of your's, but only because you are one of my favorite artists, and I like a lot of your work, and especially your Star Trek textures for Valiant, and Courageous.

3. To Borrow  from a question Vatorx asked me -- In the original run of Star Trek, there was no grand final episode to celebrate the end of the run.  If you were to create a special last episode for Kirk and crew, what plot elements would you include in your script?     I'm not sure if I could give you specifics, but I would give the gang one last mission, and around it I would give them futures, like someone becoming a teacher at the Academy, or a promotion, and another ship for someone else, etc.

4. Pretend that studio executives have decided that there should be a new Star Trek series and have picked you to come up with ideas for a pilot episode.  What idea for a new series would you pitch?     Probably to go back to the original idea for Star Trek, to explore the universe, and to interact, good or bad, with the races we would encounter. As well, as to continue to use the Galaxy Class, or something similar, for the ship interiors.

5. How do you feel about the J.J. Abrams Trek movies? [You may use an emoticon to answer if you can find one that appropriately captures the gamut of your reactions...]           Well, I haven't had the chance to see 'Into Darkness' yet. I did see the first one, where they were at the acadamy. I loved the drama and the comedy, it was so reminscent of the original, and the gang could very easily have been young versions of the older characters that we know and love. The chemestry among them is also very reminscent of the original. The only objection I had about the movie, was that they played with time. In my opinion, for what it's worth, you can do anything you want when you play with time in a story.  (I don't know how many of you remember 'Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure', where two teenage boys use a time machine built like an old fashioned style public pay telephone booth to collect a group of Historical world figures. Well, in the movie, after Ted is kicked out of the Police Station where his Dad works, he and Bill are standing outside talking about how they can free the group of Historical leaders, and Bill mentions using the phone booth time machine to go back in time and steal Ted's Dad's keys, then while they're talking they find the keys, and then Ted thinks of a way to use a trashcan against his dad, and low and behold a trashcan falls from the sky, while they're in the Police Station and they're able to get the historical figures out of the Police Station. That's what I mean when I say they can do anything when they start playing with time.) Based on what little I've actually read about 'Into Darkness', I'm not even sure I want to see it. My friends have told me, and the DVD box says that the mystery character was, in fact, Kahn. While all of the other actors could conceivably be younger versions of the beloved character that they play, there is no white guy, no matter how good an actor he is, that can successfully pull off that character. Ricardo Montalban was from Spain. That's like trying to get a Black guy to play Sulu, or even Kirk. It's just not going to work. The suspension of disbelief just isn't there. (There are some characters that can handle a reinterpretation that wide, just not Khan.)

6. If the events of "Where no Man Has Gone Before" had not happened, how would the presence of Gary Mitchell have changed the relationship between Kirk and Spock? (If you have no strong opinions about speculative Mitchell/Kirk/Spock dynamics -- because, yeah... that's probably just me -- you can just ramble on about how cute Lt. Helen Noel or T'Pol or Mress is for a line or two or pick which Star Trek character you'd like to have as you co-pilot for a cross country road trip in a Volvo station wagon.)       I guess the question should be whether Mitchell would have had a problem with Kirk's and Spock's relationship. I don't think Kirk would have ever allowed Mitchell to dictate who he could be friends with, and Spock would not have found it logical to allow him to do so, either. Who knows, maybe Spock and Mitchell could have become friends as well.

7. Back to art -- Imagine some aspiring young artist is picking up Poser or DAZ Studio for the first time.  What advice would you give him or her?         Since I'm the last person on this planet to be giving advice to anybody, I'm not sure I would, but I would probably say to this person to keep at it, and to take all criticism, and to learn from it, and to not be afraid to ask questions.

8. If you could magically develop one new artistic ability (such as suddenly being able to sculpt perfect likenesses of cats or something equally useful) what gift would you wish for?     To be able to sculpt in a 3D modeling program, like Hexagon.

9. What's up with these kids today? I mean, sheesh, back in my day....     Sodas, and comic books were 50 cents, and instead of having Ipods or Ipads, there was Walkmans, and Discmans, and instead of having their own cell phones given to them by Mom and Dad, Mom and Dad were involved in their lives, and were responsible for their kids.

10. To best please my watchers, what sort of render should I do next? Green ladies? Blue ladies? Helen Noel looking cute? Sulu in a Volvo station wagon with a Boston Terrier wearing Spock ears?      Well, as far as a render goes, I'd be inclined to say all types of ladies, blue, green, Cardie, and even Human. LOL. And maybe even some guys, too, so they don't feel left out. LOL (And I'm probably going to be the only person to ask for this, since everyone else seems to be Wesley-haters, but, if it wouldn't be too difficult to do, I'd really appreciate a Wesley style Acting Ensign uniform, like what he wore in Season 1, as well as Season 2 for M4's Valiant, please?)

People to send list of questions to (hopefully I don't alienate anyone on this list):
